Web Site Design: Mission Centers of Houston

A simple screen shot of the most recent web design I’ve completed for the Mission Centers of Houston. Since they opted to have me develop their site using SiteGrinder (from MediaLab.com) they haven’t quite finished loading their content. Hopefully soon this site will go live and we all can enjoy!

The executive director, Ginger Smith, wanted to keep the site design from looking too sterile—like too many other nonprofit, ministry web sites. This earthy, gritty feel truly helps the viewer understand the purpose of the Mission Centers of Houston, and provide 2 specific calls to action: Volunteer and Give.

Viewers will be able to read about the different ministries offered by the Mission Centers of Houston as well as either make a donation or register to volunteer. Previous summer missionaries will be able to write about their experiences serving at the Mission Centers and post the story for all to see.

The site makes use of several social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Picassa (for sharing photos). News and updates will be posted on a separate blog powered by WordPress, and will display on the front page utilizing an RSS Feed.
